Paris has so much to offer the inquisitive traveller. In between rehearsing for our gig tomorrow and catching up on some much needed sleep, I visited some tourist spots, went to a gallery opening, had a coffee with a friend and on my way back to my apartment, I saw the late night underbelly of Paris in full flow.

Life is way more interesting when you meet her halfway.

Today I left London for a week in Paris. I contributed to an Electro Jazz album late last year and to celebrate the launch (of the cd) I’m performing at a prestigious venue called ‘New Morning’ on Thursday night. What’s strange to me is the fact I was originally approached back in January about performing at New Morning with my own project but that soon fizzled out. The stars it seems, always align but never as we think they will. So a few months later an ongoing side project pulls me back to the city of Love to share my Poetry with friends, fans and hopefully some new folk. Life is an undulating spectacle and we never really know what will happen next. So this evening, I sit in a Parisian apartment chuckling at my early morning travel sagas, soaking up some free Jazz on my laptop and being very grateful for all I have, all I am and all I will be. Art is life HKB FiNN
